A Peruvian Interlude!!!.... Four snaps....

A beautiful morning here and the first placid sunny one for a long time. Bitter cold on the tops tho with temperatures below freezing up to lunch time and perhaps after judging by the condition of the snow. Almost the whole of the standing water was still deep frozen with reservoirs in camouflage!
Still little happening here in the sky over the Oxenhope area. A fifteen mile walk this morning confirmed a mipit presence but for me unusually right on the very tops of the hard frozen moors where all the snow had probably blown off and way over into Lancashire. Couldn't find any mips lower down at all as still not much melt of snow cover. Although quite mushy in the bottoms with many fields now exposed and getting away well. Lapwings gone altogether from the high in-byes as had everything else except a couple of packs of flushed snipe. In the sky, two lots of pinks heard but couldn't find any and bins in bag at that time. Also still lapwings flying east but nothing else likely to be moving noted. The only Curlews located or heard were a group gathered together on one of the lower in-byes. The golden plovers on the high moors for weeks now were not in evidence where I walked and the usual marginal pastures were not occupied. Thought at one time that I was still in Peru.....

Six Images all Copyright 2013

Cut off for five days but now dug out! Nocturnal track training and listening now unhidered but not half as exciting..... even when blizzarding!!

PS... already had a comment re this with infererence of rubbish camera (which it is), or faulty processing... so better explain. The white streaks across the snaps are the blizzarding snow at slow shutter speed!!
