S F1, recent rain now stopped, 17degC, vis 10km, 8/8, QNH 1007 falling.

Not much on the move except Swifts!!!! but a big influx and change over of birds since yesterday! About 60 Swallows were over the water along with three Sand Martin, six House Martin and a constantly varing number of Swifts (36 in total estimated). Wheatears were again present in numbers with 12 on the embankment which included some showing the characteristics of Greenland. All this following a very wet morning throughout with rain again towards the end of the visit at c1600hr. A large gathering of birders on Soil Hill top were presumeably watching the Dotterel!!

Swifts 26-04-2008

Big influx of Swifts into the Low Countries today with c2250 being counted at 28 of the Visible Migration watchpoints. See trektellen for much more information.

Just three Swifts (the front runners) recorded in Bradford today.
